Reflection #2

The final paper was a huge obstacle for me especially with time. My final paper was based on false reports, police reports, how they are not handled correctly & there is not enough consequences for the damage being done due to these actions.

Growing up I had a lot of situations where I ended up being arrested or held in the bookings. I wasn’t a bad or a person whom was sick in the head, I made mistakes and was actually falsely reported on several occasions, when you’re on the other side of the justice system you notice many things. With my experience and history with law enforcement, I decided to speak on the injustice that was going on, how someone was able to take my freedom so quickly due to an un investigated report.

In my paper I specified how false reports lead to many of the horrible acts happening today, including but limited to unlawful arrests, stereotypes and unlawful incarceration. Nowadays it’s becoming a norm for cops to not receive consequences for their lack of effort, lack of work & lack of responsibility in the injustice system, it is treated like a shrug off the shoulders. I claimed that without the consequences to these actions they will never be a change in the justice system & without police effort in actually doing their job and going above and beyond will prevent false reports from being brung into courts leading to disappointing results.
